One month!

ONE MONTH! One month of school left, one month until I'm reunited with Colorado, family, and friends! One month until I can eat Mexican food. one month, one month, one month. Can you tell I'm excited? ;) My students have what's called "Spring Fever", they can not wait until school's out! They have worked so hard this year, and are exhausted, mentally and physically. They are so close to being done and moving on, but right now, it just seems like an uphill battle. I feel bad for their little bodies and brains, and I pray the time passes quickly for their sake. Also, keep me in your prayers too. Pray that God gives me strength, patience, and energy to finish out the school year. I never realized how exhausting teaching can be! Thanks. :)

Just a reminder: ONE MONTH

Back in Colorado!

Hello all! So after a 20 hour or so journey I did indeed make it back home. Mom picked me up at the airport and I didn't even fall asleep on the drive back to her house. I'll be staying here for another week or so when I will move into the basement of our house in Greeley, and I start work at my old job on May 2. I don't know for sure how long I will work, but I'm planning to work through May and June. Jess gets back, as you can see from her countdown, on June 17th. Both of us are already eager for that day. So far my schedule is rather full of dinner appointments and the like, meeting up with family and friends I haven't seen for a while. I also went to the Rockies game yesterday, and seem to have been their good luck charm, as they demolished the Giants after being unproductive in the previous two games of the series. I also enjoyed some free beer thanks to mom and the Ladies Fan Club tickets that we had! It was a good time.
Well there's always more I could write, but I'll save some for another day. So, if you read this, and you're in Colorado, and you don't already have plans to meet up with me, give me a call, email, or some other form of communication. I still have the same phone number I had before we left. I hope you're all well!

Hawkmoon's Inaugural

Inaugural is a weird word. There I said it. That's obviously beside the point, but I couldn't stop myself. Anyway, I figured that I should make my first entry for a couple reasons, especially since I will be headed home in just over 2 weeks! I can't believe how quickly that is coming, but I am sure excited about it. I can tell you that my plans in the first couple days home will most likely consist of Mexican food and Rockies baseball. Ok, yes, I'll be setting up dinner/coffee/hang-out times with a LOT of people, but food is a necessity. I may not have an excuse for baseball.
We are leaving tonight (t minus 10 hours or so) for the Philippines for about a week. We're traveling with some friends, but none of us have been there so we don't really know what to expect. As long as there's warm weather and beaches I think we'll be just fine!
I haven't been very involved in setting up the blog, Jess did a wonderful job on all of the set up without much help. That being said, I don't know how/if we can post many pictures, but I am hoping we will post some of our trip and our Taiwan adventures in general before too long. If not, I did start a flickr account pretty early on while we were here, so maybe I'll 'resurrect' that, if need be. Anyway, we'll be gone for a week, and before I know it I'll be headed home. Woohoo! So that's all I've got, thanks for reading.

Countdown

At the request of some friends, I put countdown clocks for Terry and my return. So those of you not counting, start! Less than 100 days! We also expect a big homecoming party when we return :) Just to clear the air, I did not make my clock bigger because I think I'm more important. Terry chose the small one with the boring background and print.

This school year really has flown by. One more full week of school and then it's Spring Break. Our last full break before the end of the school year! Last time I was here, I went to Thailand and it was an amazing trip. We wanted to go this year, but unfortunately, tickets were too expensive. On the bright side, there are a lot more places we can visit close by. Vietnam, Philippines, Korea, China, Malaysia are all on our list, but this year we decided on the Philippines. Aside from the things reported in the news, I don't really know much about the Philippines or what to expect. I've seen pictures of some really nice beaches and that's about it. Huh.I should either do some reading or just be ready for a surprise.

Weekly Update

I can't believe it's been a week since I wrote the first blog! I was hoping to write more frequently than once a week, but I just don't think our lives are exciting enough to do so. We'll see what happens. Lucky you, I do have exciting news to share on this post....

I'M PREGNANT. haha, just kidding. I wonder how many of you just fell for that one :). I'm not pregnant but I do have exciting news. Terry and I have booked our flights home! Yay. Terry is leaving a little earlier because our good friends, Austin and Shannon, are getting hitched! I think he is going to be a groomsmen so that's kinda a big deal. He will be home April 19 and I will be back roughly two months later...June 17. We can not wait to be home! There are so many things we want to do, buy and, of course, EAT. Mexican is on the top of our chart!
Followed by Inta Juice, Chick-fil-a, and Krispy Kreme :) Well, that's my list anyway. Terry is stinkin' excited to be home in time for summer softball, and to drink Mt. Dew. We love living in Taiwan and experiencing the different culture, but some things just can't compare to home.

Are these still "cool"?

When Terry and I left we informed people we would start a blog to keep them updated on our lives and travels. Clearly, we're on top of things. After 7 months here, we're finally starting the blog. I didn't really want to start a blog because I'm not a very creative/good writer. After reading a couple friends' blogs and seeing their cute pages, I decided it's something I should try. Before I could actually write something, I needed to design our page so it looks less.....blah. Do you know how long that takes??? There are SO many different sites that offer backgrounds! Holy moley, talk about overwhelming. To add to that, I wanted to find a background that wasn't too girly. I mean Terry would have to look at it and occasionally write blogs too. After looking at backgrounds for about two days, I realized boys don't decorate their blogs and Terry doesn't really care what it looks like, so really, I can do whatever I want. Once the background was selected, I had to make sure the layout was PERFECT. The blog text can't go into the margins, stickers have to be centered, etc....boy, this is taking a lot of work. Then comes the actual text, the part I dread. I'm just not a natural writer and there are always grammatical errors in my writing. So after I write, I have to check for correct tense, punctuation, and the other fun things. I, however, am not going to check this one. I am already overwhelmed with the whole process and frankly, this is a test entry so I can work on my layout. I promise when the 'real' entries start, I'll check my grammar. That's all for now!

P.S- I just discovered the different font options.
